Is a Silver for 2008/2009… Ha.. Time to buck up!!

My Life, Sports, Thoughts 1 Comment »

Total points earned 22pts, 5 pts from Sit-up, Shuttle run and 4 pts for Chin-up, Standing Board Jump and 2.4km run.

Above is my result for my Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) test today, and for that I got a silver award for my fitness. Yeah hey!!!! Celebrate!!! hahahaha!!!

Frankly speaking, a silver  is ready an okay results but at the same time, I’m aware that the results is way way way off my standard.

However, I am still happy and that’s because it is a well-deserved results, why? It is because, I had not been training for months!!! Ever since December 2008 when I was down with cough that cause me to miss the Standard Chartered Marathon, I had not put on my running shoe to go for a run.

And in fact, the only sport or exercise that I had been doing is soccer and that had only happened 4 time for this year and at most I played about 60-70mins per match. Playing soccer alone does really improve my overall fitness..

So with the lack of training and I still managed to get a silver is really not so bad.

Whats more important for me now, is that I’m know where are the shortfall in order for me to get a GOLD standard. and this time run, the shortfall wasn’t my weakest station in chin-up, it was actually my pet event RUNNING!!! This morning I clocked my third “career” slowest timing at 10mins 49s, and people, guess what, that’s what 3 months with running can do to you.

Anyway, it is a good thing to just get a silver as it turns up to serves a motivation to get me moving again towards my Gold Standard. The good news is that the silver results is for my last year window and therefore, for this year window starting from 10th march 09 to 9th march 10, I will go for my  GOLD.

SO, needless to say more, is time to put on the running shoe and start my training again, and in the near future, the Gold award will be in my hand. HA, are there anyone care to join me in my quest?

It’s time to repay my debt V

My Life, Thoughts No Comments »

Alright baby!! another S$500 down, S$6900 more to go. Yes, once again is time for me to repay my debt and yet again is a happy time to “spend” money, and in fact this 2 months of 2009, I had  been really spending and I’m totally happy with it. Ha ha ha!

For those who didn’t know, I had just came back from holiday!! For the past 6 days, I was with my parents and my eldest sis, the 4 of us took time off to visit Hong Kong and Macau. It was a great family bonding trip, although the family is not in full force, but still it was a trip well-spent. Hopefully, I can find time in the next few days to share my trip in this website.

Anyway back to the main topic, Yes, despite the Chinese  new year period and the Hong Kong and Macau holiday, I was still able to find the money to repay my debt. To make things even more interesting, My family went for a family photo shoot that cost me a bomb during the period and yet I still able to find the money to repay my debt. (P.S. I’m not a rich guy and remember the title of my post, I’m still in debts hahaha:mrgreen: )

A lot of people are wondering how I did it, given my limited income, and some people are also questioning about my recently expenditure as they are well aware of my financial situation and my answer to them are three words, and they are PLANNING, TRUSTING and DISCIPLINE.  So just allow me to share with you why this 3 words had given me the money to pay for new year clothes, new year gathering, a family photo shoot and a holiday and yet still able to clear my debt. (p.s is just a sharing, all i know that the stuff i going to share had been working for me, ha)

Firstly of course, I need a source of income, in my case, it comes from my full-time job. so with the salary coming every month, you first need to plan how to use it.

PLANNING->You need to plan what you need to do with the money, how much goes to saving, how much goes to returning of debt, how much goes to your daily/monthly expenses etc. You just got to know, no need to go down to the last single cents, all you need first an estimated figure so that you know where your money is going.

Secondly, TRUSTING-> for my case, is the trust that you can give others and gaining for yourself, I’m luckily enough to have friends to trust me that I will return the money to them, even when they know I have the spare cash to return them. Trusting myself, trusting my own plan and goals that my plan will work out. Allowing people around me and myself to trust that I will stick to my plan and my plan will lead me to a better situation than now. YOU just need to trust.

Lastly, DISCIPLINE, have the discipline to stick to my plans, have the discipline to say “YES” and “NO”, have the discipline to ensure that I will create actions that bring me nearer to my goal. YOU Just got to be Discipline.

Yup, that’s all and of course there are others value and factor that contribute to my life in the past few months, but having the above 3 in place, I’m sure it will aid me in one way or another.

So, even you don’t understand what am i writing about or you disagree with what I had mentioned, it really doesn’t affect me. and that because,  all I know the 3 words will yet again bring me to another holiday which will be TAIWAN in a week time and yet at the same time, I can still repay my debt.

Nike SHOOT II FG Gold… my new soccer bOOts

My Life, Shopping, Thoughts No Comments »

Can YOU believe it!!!! I actually had to queue for close to 15 mins just to enter the NIKE Warehouse Sale at Singapore EXPO back on the 8 Feb.

That was the first time that I ever need to queue in order to do some SHOPPING!! I mean, it is understandable to queue for collection for the race pack for the Stand. Chart. Marathon, but to queue for entrance for a NIKE sale??, it’s nuts!!!

In my mind, I was telling myself, the sale better be good, if not I will really made the wrong decision to find time from my hectic schedule to shop.

And guess what!!!! there’s really nothing much at all!!! Ergh!!! There were little selection for the clothing and even those available are really some backdated design and some weird and  dull coloured apparels. It was hugely disappointing, and I wanted to curse myself for wasting time  but thankful, their shoe segments was still not too bad, and there were a good range for selection and that was where, I managed to my trip make worth-while.

For s$50, I was able to get my new soccer boots, the golden NIKE shoot II FG. HAHA!! Yes, it is shiny gold! Heard that this model was designed to provide stability while on the pitch and  for superior ball control and accuracy as well.

But frankly speaking, I don’t give a damn, all I know was that that the purchase had neutralise my disappointment with the NIKE sales and it had make my time worth-while and interestingly this incident made me realised something too.

I guessed, that something  was that no matter how BAD the situation turned up to be, you are still about to find something that can make you happy, all you have to do is just LOOK….. just like this NIKE Sale which was a disappointment for me but I’m still happy as I managed to find and purchased a pair boots that I liked.

At Work, My Life, Thoughts No Comments »

Gesh!! oh boy, once again, is been at least 2 weeks since my last post. Very bad Very bad…. but still, I not going to condemned myself for the lack of post again. That’s because if I go on again, I will sound like a broken record..”singing—–”see I missed the quota again, lack of discipline lack of commitment, blah blah blah”…”

Guess I had enough of that already, blogging is surely and just not my top priority and I guess right now my top priority is still work….  followed by my family(at least for the month of Jan and Feb as my Dad is back for holiday)

I had been really busy since the Chinese New Year till now, starting from the reunion dinner to new year visiting to organising my annual TPSS gathering, and then followed by camp and more camps. and in fact for the last 3 Saturday I have been working as well!! Not that I’m complaining, I just amazed at how I managed to survive thorough all this work and activities.

This few weeks has been rewarding, in terms of families time, it was great, with Dad around, there were more family dinner time together then before, and it was always full of fun and laughter and in terms for work, it was fulfilling too, even though, I didn’t lead any program for the month of Feb, I was still involved as a facilitator which offers more first hand experience and contact with the participants and once again I glad I was able to make some else’s day when they were assigned to my group. Be it, is a he or she, adults, youth or children, I believed they had gained certain life learning values from the training we provided, and I glad that I was part of their growing and development process.

Another reason for despite the business, it was still time well spent. I’m happy that I’m able to be around to do what I like to do which was to put a smile to whoever that had crossed my path and for the past few weeks and I believed I had done that successfully and happily.

So smile, my friend, it is always nice to see a smiling face than any other facials express. I hoped your past weeks were as meaningful and smily bright as mine too.
